Celebrating Community Support: How My Residential Society Empowered My Entrepreneurial Venture
Starting a new business can be both exciting and challenging, especially when venturing into a local community. Recently, I embarked on an entrepreneurial journey by introducing a single product within my own residential society, and the experience has been truly enlightening.
The Approach
My strategy was straightforward: engage directly with residents, demonstrate the product, and ensure they feel confident that their investment is worthwhile. With a community comprising around 200 flats, I targeted approximately 140 households, reaching out personally to garner interest.
Engagement and Results
Out of these households, 67 residents agreed to try a demo, which was a significant milestone. As the conversations progressed, 19 individuals decided to purchase the product, making the first sales figures both promising and motivating. Notably, the majority of buyers were homemakers aged between 30 and 50, helping me better understand my core audience. One touching moment was when a satisfied customer appreciated the product so much that she sent it with her daughter to her hostel after the holidays, highlighting the product’s appeal and utility.
Business Growth
Overall, I sold 22 units—comprising 16 single units and 3 combo packages—and achieved a gross revenue of ₹3,280. Although modest in comparison to larger operations, this initial success has provided a strong foundation for future growth. It underscores the power of community engagement and direct sales in establishing a foothold in the market.
Looking Ahead
Buoyed by the positive response from my residential society, I am eager to expand this venture further. The product is now available on major e-commerce platforms, opening doors for a broader audience to explore and join this journey. With continued enthusiasm and community support, I look forward to scaling up and bringing my offerings to more people.
