Title: Navigating Google Reviews: What to Do When Genuine Feedback Disappears
As the manager of a Google Business Profile for a hospital, I have encountered a perplexing situation that may resonate with others in the healthcare industry or local businesses. Over the past couple of months, I have observed a noticeable fluctuation in our review count. For instance, our totals have shifted between 168 to as low as 155 and back to 164, with the most significant drop occurring when 13 reviews vanished simultaneously.
This phenomenon raises numerous questions, especially since we prioritize authenticity in our patient interactions. We actively encourage genuine feedback from our patients, averaging one new review per day. It’s crucial to mention that our approach is entirely ethical—we do not purchase reviews, utilize review farms, or incentivize patients for positive feedback.
As a result of these unexpected fluctuations, our overall rating has also diminished from 4.7 to 4.6. This decline seems particularly unjust when considering that while positive reviews have disappeared, a single negative review has remained visible. This leads me to ponder several possibilities:

The experience can be frustrating, particularly when the majority of our reviews stem from real patients sharing their experiences. The absence of notifications or explanations regarding removed reviews only adds to this frustration.
