Title: Celebrating Milestones: From Concept to First User Onboarding
Navigating the journey of entrepreneurship can often feel solitary, especially when you’re breaking new ground in an innovative space. Recently, I embarked on a new venture that blends artificial intelligence with problem-solving in my local community. Today, I’m thrilled to say that I successfully onboarded my very first user.
To clarify, I am not here to sell anything, pitch a product, or ask for favors. Instead, I want to share my excitement and gratitude for reaching this significant milestone in my journey. It’s been a winding path for me, hopping between various careers since my early days in the U.S. Air Force at 16, moving through different roles until now, at 35. I’ve always been fascinated by computers and technology, yet I’ve never considered myself a coding expert. My understanding of the structure of programming is decent, but I often struggle with syntax.
My initial exploration of AI began in 2020, but at that time, the technology felt limited. Recently, however, I revisited this field and was amazed by how far AI capabilities have come. While supporting myself through live gigs at local wineries and taprooms—acceptable yet unfulfilling work—I began to reflect on the frustrations of the current job climate. A random thought struck me during a performance: what if I could solve a recurring issue I had noticed in conversations with winery owners? Intrigued by this idea, I approached several owners about potential solutions, and to my delight, they were enthusiastic.
With this newfound encouragement, I consulted AI tools once again, asking, “Can you help me solve this problem?” The responses reassured me that the technology could indeed assist. I quickly set out to create a proof of concept to validate my idea. This venture consumed my energy, leading me to dedicate myself fully by investing in professional tools, writing code, conducting bug tests, and refining my approach over an intense month of development.
On February 25th, I had that initial revelation, and now on April 6th, I am happy to share that I’ve successfully onboarded my first client. Although this client happens to be a friend and is not yet paying me, the experience was incredibly validating, despite the fact that the program faced significant challenges during onboarding. My friend’s response, however, was overwhelmingly positive and supportive. He expressed his excitement about being part of the testing process and encouraged me to persevere until the software is fully ready for deployment.
While this is just the beginning, it feels monumental to have taken a tangible step forward. It’s a sign of progress, a confirmation that what I’ve built has potential.
Thank you for taking the time to read my story. If you have any insights or thoughts to share, I would love to hear them as I continue on this journey.
