Title: Insights from a Seasoned London-Based IT Recruiter: Ask Me Anything

Are you curious about the world of IT recruitment? After a successful Q&A session last year that garnered numerous insightful questions, I’m excited to share my experiences again. Currently taking some time off this week, I thought it would be the perfect opportunity to offer some clarity from my professional perspective.

Who am I? I am a London-based independent agency IT recruiter with a decade of experience specializing in sourcing top talent across Europe. My focus areas include Software Engineering, Data Science, and DevOps. It’s important to clarify that I am not a Talent Acquisition Manager or HR professional; instead, I operate as an independent recruiter directly connecting talented professionals with organizations seeking their expertise.

Please note that I will not be able to respond to requests for CV reviews or inquiries such as “Do you have any openings for Data/Java/DevOps engineers?” for two key reasons:

  1. Addressing such requests falls outside the scope of this discussion.
  2. Maintaining my anonymity and privacy is a priority.

If you’re interested in learning more about the recruiting process, industry insights, or how to better position yourself as a candidate, feel free to ask. I look forward to sharing knowledge and answering your questions within these boundaries.

  • It’s great to see experienced professionals sharing their insights into the recruitment landscape, especially from an independent perspective. Given the evolving nature of the tech industry—where remote work and global talent pools have become the norm—how do you see the role of geographic boundaries impacting talent sourcing and client expectations? Additionally, with the rise of platforms like GitHub, LinkedIn, and niche community forums, what strategies have you found most effective in identifying and engaging top-tier candidates who might not be actively seeking new opportunities but are open to the right proposition? Your experience navigating such a diverse market offers valuable lessons for both job seekers and organizations aiming to build high-performing tech teams.
