Starting My Own Web & App Dev Business Need Some Pointers!πŸ™‡β€β™‚οΈ Variation 14

Embarking on My Own Web and App Development Journey: Seeking Advice

Hello, fellow tech enthusiasts!

I’m Danish, and after several years of experience in developing mobile and web applications primarily using Flutter, React Native, Node.js, and MongoDB, I’ve decided to take the leap into entrepreneurship. Up until now, I’ve created a variety of applications for clients, but the time has come for me to establish my own business.

As I embark on this new venture, I’m in the initial and somewhat chaotic phase of setting everything up from the ground up. Here are some of the key areas I’m focusing on as I navigate this new path:

  1. Choosing the Right Business Name: I want a name that resonates with my vision and doesn’t sound overly generic.
  2. Establishing an Online Presence: Securing a domain and creating a portfolio website is at the top of my to-do list.
  3. Defining My Services: I’m contemplating which specific areas to specialize in β€” whether it’s custom applications, minimum viable products (MVPs), websites, or a mix of everything.
  4. Building My Brand Identity: From designing a logo to crafting a captivating tagline and setting up social media profiles, I’m aware that these elements are crucial to my branding.

As a solo entrepreneur, I’m mindful of my time and finances, ensuring that I make strategic decisions that will set me up for success.

I would greatly appreciate insights from those of you who have walked a similar path. Here are a few specific questions I’m grappling with:

  • How did you create a business name that truly reflects your values?
  • Did you focus on a niche right from the beginning, or were you open to any project that came your way?
  • What decisions or actions do you wish you had reconsidered during your setup phase?
  • What tools do you recommend for managing portfolios, client proposals, contracts, or project tracking?
  • When did you know it was the right time to start reaching out to potential clients?

I’m open to any tips, advice, or experiences you’re willing to share. My goal is to build my business thoughtfully and avoid rushing into decisions.

Thank you for taking the time to read my post. Any guidance you can provide would be tremendously helpful!

Best,
Danish
