Starting a business at a young age can be a thrilling yet daunting experience. As I approach my 16th birthday in just two months, I find myself reflecting on my journey thus far and seeking advice from fellow aspiring entrepreneurs.
My mother has been my biggest cheerleader, supporting my endeavors every step of the way. I’ve ventured into creating handmade bracelets and necklaces, however, my sales have been modest at best, leading to more losses than profit. Despite this setback, my passion for creating hasn’t diminished, and I am eager to explore new ideas and expand beyond just jewelry.
However, I find myself in a bit of a predicament. My mother, understandably concerned about the financial implications of my business, has placed restrictions on my ability to purchase materials. She fears that investing more money into supplies for my business might lead to wasting time, energy, and resources, especially since many of my products sell for only around £5. While I truly appreciate her support and concern, I see this venture as not only a business opportunity but also a meaningful hobby that allows me to express my creativity.
