This experience prompted me to challenge prevalent stereotypes propagated online about this generation, revealing a more nuanced and inspiring reality.

Understanding the Need for Context

Contrary to some expectations, I found that Gen Z team members are not seeking constant guidance or hand-holding. Instead, they thrive when given clear context about why a task matters. Explaining the purpose behind a project ignites their motivation and engagement, enabling them to take initiative and execute with enthusiasm. When I skip the ‘why,’ they may push back, which is a fair response—highlighting their desire for authenticity and meaningful work.

A Keen Eye for Trends and Aesthetics

One of the most valuable contributions from my team has been their perceptiveness regarding current trends, design aesthetics, and identifying what appears outdated. Trusting their judgment has enhanced our packaging and social media presence significantly.
