The Power of Personal Touches in Building a Food Business: A Heartfelt Reflection from Bengaluru Breads & Chops

Starting a food business often involves navigating challenges with limited resources. When Bengaluru Breads & Chops was launched, our team faced the reality of operating without a substantial marketing budget, professional food photography, or influencer collaborations. Instead, we relied on simple, authentic strategies—dedication, time, and a trusty sketch pen.

One of our most cherished practices was personalizing each first-time customer’s experience. We took the time to write their name inside the lid of their order box, accompanied by a small note. This small gesture fostered a connection that went beyond the food itself.

A memorable example: a customer named Anikethan ordered from us for the first time. After trying our offerings, he took the effort to leave a 5-star review and shared that we had become his new favorite place to order from. Moments like these reaffirm the importance of authentic customer interactions in building loyalty.

Over the course of our journey, we completed more than 1,500 orders and maintained a solid 4.2-star rating. Recently, we made the decision to temporarily close our kitchen as we pivot to explore different cuisines. This transition has provided us with valuable lessons about what truly contributes to a successful food business—lessons that often differ from conventional advice offered by industry gurus.

For entrepreneurs considering starting a cloud kitchen in Bangalore, our experience highlights the significance of genuine customer relationships and thoughtful engagement. Having been through the process, I welcome any questions and am eager to share insights into where the financial efforts truly go in this venture.
