Title: Success Story: Launching an Egg My Yard Business at 15 and Future Plans for Expansion

Recently, I embarked on a journey to launch my own business, aptly named “Egg My Yard,” just in time for the Easter festivities. Now, at the age of 15, I want to share the outcomes of this venture along with my plans for future growth.

Business Overview and Financial Insights

After seeking advice from various sources, I received invaluable tips that aided in my business’s success. Here’s a detailed breakdown of my financials:

  • Expenses:
  • Supplies: $132.39
  • Salary: $17
  • Total Expenses: $149.39

  • Revenue:

  • Egg Packages sold: $540
  • Add-ons: $31
  • Tips: $25
  • Total Revenue: $595

  • Net Profit: $446.61

  • This marks a 48.87% increase from the previous year.

Customer Engagement and Product Offerings

During this year’s Easter rush, I engaged with a total of 14 customers, reflecting a 27.27% increase in clientele. Notably, 6 of these customers were repeat clients, which accounted for 43% of the total. Here’s a summary of the packages sold:

  • 1 package of 20 eggs
  • 6 packages of 25 eggs
  • 3 packages of 50 eggs
  • 2 packages of 75 eggs
  • 2 packages of 100 eggs

I was pleased to find that 50% of customers opted for one add-on, while 14% took two.

Marketing Channels

My marketing strategies primarily involved leveraging social media and community platforms, which proved successful:

  • 7 customers found me via Facebook
  • 3 via Facebook Groups
  • 2 through Nextdoor
  • 1 through direct conversation
  • 1 via texting

Demographics and Payment Methods

On average, I catered to children around 4.5 years old, with most families hosting about 2.5 kids. In terms of payments, 93% of transactions were processed through Venmo, while the remaining 7% were in cash.

Future Expansion Plans

Looking ahead, I am excited to announce plans for expanding the Egg My Yard business by developing Egg My Yard kits. These kits will include all the necessary materials for individuals interested in starting their own Egg My Yard side hustles. This will be my inaugural product, but my vision is to extend this concept to other entrepreneurial endeavors. I aim to document the lessons learned, offer practical tools, and share insights on what works and what doesn’t to simplify the journey for aspiring business owners.

Conclusion

My experience in running the Egg My Yard business has been incredibly rewarding, both personally and financially. I want to extend my heartfelt thanks to everyone who provided useful feedback and advice. As I continue to grow this venture, I look forward to sharing more successes and insights with you all. Stay tuned for the unveiling of the Egg My Yard kits and my future adventures in entrepreneurship!
