Seeking Your Opinion: Help Choose the Perfect Name for My Pre-Wedding Photography Business
Hello everyone!
I’m thrilled to announce that I’m in the process of launching a new venture: a pre-wedding photography business characterized by a modern, editorial approach in both branding and style. As I finalize the details, I’m facing a bit of a dilemma when it comes to selecting the perfect name, and I’d love to hear your thoughts.
Initially, I was inspired by “CLR STDY” (pronounced as “Colour Study”). I am drawn to its artistic undertones and appreciate how its contemporary aesthetic is enhanced by the omission of vowels. However, I worry that it may not convey enough information about what the business is all about, which could potentially be a disadvantage.
On the other hand, I’m considering the name “Darling Day” or “Darling Day Studio.” This option feels charming and romantic, which could align beautifully with the essence of pre-wedding photography.
I’d greatly appreciate your input: which name resonates more with you and effectively captures the essence of a modern, pre-wedding photography business? Your feedback will be invaluable as I make this important decision.

Great post! Choosing the right name is such a vital step in branding, especially for a service as emotionally resonant as pre-wedding photography. I think “CLR STDY” has a bold, modern aesthetic that could really stand out if you’re targeting a younger, artistic clientele who appreciate minimalist and innovative branding. However, as you mentioned, it might not immediately communicate the nature of your business, which could require additional branding efforts to clarify your services.
On the other hand, “Darling Day” or “Darling Day Studio” evokes warmth, romance, and approachability—qualities that are integral to capturing pre-wedding moments. It’s memorable and instantly tells clients what kind of experience they can expect. If your style leans towards creating heartfelt, romantic images with a modern editorial twist, this name seems to align beautifully.
Perhaps a hybrid approach could work—something that combines the artistic edge of “CLR STDY” with the romantic charm of “Darling Day.” For example, “Darling Study” or “CLR Darling Studio.” Ultimately, think about your target audience and the emotional response you want your brand to evoke. Whichever you choose, a strong visual identity and brand story will help convey your unique style beyond just the name. Best of luck with your exciting venture!
