Today, I find myself in a challenging phase of life, juggling the demands of running my small business and caring for my growing family. For the past eight years, steering my company alongside my dedicated team of four employees has been my greatest passion. Recently, I welcomed my second child, a beautiful addition to our family, and I am incredibly thankful for her. Yet, I find myself struggling to adjust to the new dynamic. The situation at home is understandably demanding. My wife and I have agreed that I should work half-days, allowing us to share parenting responsibilities. The current state of childcare options where we live compounds the problem, as quality services aren’t available until our child reaches a year old. For now, this means my work window is limited to just three hours a day, factoring in commute time—honestly, it feels insufficient and leaves me feeling quite dispirited.
