Navigating the Job Market: My Unexpected Journey from Tech to Construction

Like many professionals, the pandemic significantly altered the trajectory of my career. Before COVID-19 hit, I was thriving in the tech industry—a field that was both exciting and full of promise. However, the upheaval brought by the pandemic resulted in an unexpected job loss, and I found myself charting a new path in the construction industry as a railway trackman.

Initially, this role was meant to be a temporary solution, a stopgap measure for about six months while I recalibrated my career goals. Fast forward two years, and I’m still in the same position.
