I’m considering launching a high-end candle and soap business after recently losing my job. For quite some time, I’ve enjoyed creating these products as a hobby, and the positive feedback from family and friends—who have received my handmade candle and soap baskets—has inspired me to take this leap into professionalism.

I’ve already conducted some initial research on raw material costs and discovered a few B2B marketplaces, such as Amazon and Alibaba International, where I could purchase supplies in bulk at competitive prices. However, I find myself at a crossroads due to my lack of business experience. While I realize there’s a wealth of online resources, I believe insight from seasoned small business owners could be invaluable.

I would greatly appreciate it if you could share the top three essential things I should anticipate and prepare for as I embark on this journey.

Additionally, I’m contemplating whether to enter into a partnership.
