Launching My Own Web and App Development Business: Seeking Advice
Hello, dear readers!
Iβm Danish, and Iβve spent the past few years honing my skills in mobile and web development, primarily working with technologies like Flutter, React Native, Node.js, and MongoDB. After successfully developing a variety of applications for clients, Iβve decided itβs time to embark on a new journey: starting my very own development service.
As I navigate this exciting yet challenging transition, I find myself in the thick of the setup phase. Everything is a work in progress, and Iβm learning to manage multiple tasks simultaneously. Here are a few key areas Iβm focused on right now:
-
Crafting the Right Business Name: I’m on the hunt for a business name that truly resonates and reflects my vision, rather than settling for something overly generic.
-
Securing a Domain and Building a Portfolio Site: Establishing an online presence is crucial; I want to create a compelling portfolio that showcases my work effectively.
-
Defining My Services: Iβm contemplating which services to offer, whether itβs custom app development, MVPs, websites, or a combination of these.
-
Establishing My Brand: This includes designing a logo, creating a memorable tagline, and setting up my social media profiles.
Since Iβm bootstrapping this venture, Iβm making a conscious effort to be strategic with my time and finances.
Now, Iβd greatly appreciate any insights from those who have taken a similar path. I find myself wrestling with a few questions:
- What was your process for choosing a meaningfully personal business name?
- Did you specialize in a niche right away, or did you accept diverse projects initially?
- Looking back, are there any decisions you regret making during the setup phase?
- What tools do you recommend for managing portfolios, proposals, contracts, and client relationships?
- How did you determine when it was the right time to start connecting with potential clients?
Iβm open to all suggestions or advice, including insights I might not have considered yet. My goal is to establish a solid foundation without hastily rushing into decisions.
Thank you for taking the time to read this post! I genuinely appreciate any guidance you can share! π
