Launching My Own Web and App Development Business: Seeking Insights
Hello everyone,
Iβm Danish, and after several years of developing mobile and web applicationsβprimarily using Flutter, React Native, Node.js, and MongoDBβIβm excited to announce that Iβm launching my own business!
Having worked on various projects for clients, I am now ready to take the leap and operate independently. As I navigate this new venture, I find myself in the early, often chaotic stages of putting everything together. There are a few key areas where I could use some guidance:
- Crafting the Perfect Business Name: Iβm eager to choose a name that resonates with my vision rather than opting for something generic.
- Establishing an Online Presence: My goal is to secure a domain and create a portfolio website that effectively showcases my work.
- Defining My Services: Iβm contemplating which offerings to focus on, such as custom applications, minimum viable products (MVPs), or websites.
- Building a Brand Identity: This includes developing a logo, tagline, and establishing a presence on social media platforms.
As I bootstrap this venture, Iβm being cautious with both my time and financial resources. To those of you who have embarked on a similar journey, I would greatly appreciate your insights on the following topics:
- Choosing a Meaningful Business Name: How did you find a name that truly reflects your brand?
- Finding Your Niche: Did you immediately specialize, or did you take on various projects initially?
- Lessons Learned: Are there any aspects of setup you regret or wish you had approached differently?
- Essential Tools: What resources do you recommend for managing portfolios, creating proposals, drafting contracts, or keeping track of clients?
- Timing for Client Outreach: How did you determine it was the right moment to start contacting potential clients?
I welcome any thoughts or suggestions you might have, even those I may not have considered yet. My aim is to lay a strong foundation for this business and approach it with careful planning.
Thank you for taking the time to read this post. I truly appreciate any advice you can share!
