Launching My Own Web and App Development Business: Seeking Advice!
Hello, everyone!
Iβm Danish, and for the past few years, Iβve been immersed in the world of mobile and web development, mainly utilizing technologies like Flutter, React Native, Node.js, and MongoDB. While I’ve had the pleasure of creating various applications for clients, Iβm excited to announce that Iβm now embarking on a solo journey to establish my own service-based business.
At this stage, itβs just me, and Iβm in the midst of laying the groundwork for my venture. Honestly, itβs quite a chaotic phase as I navigate through several essential tasks:
- Choosing a Meaningful Business Name: I want something unique that reflects my brand, rather than opting for something commonplace.
- Securing a Domain Name: I aim to quickly set up a portfolio site that showcases my work and services.
- Defining My Service Offerings: I need to pinpoint which services I want to focus on, whether it’s custom applications, minimum viable products (MVPs), or website development.
- Establishing My Brand Identity: This includes creating a logo, tagline, and establishing a presence on social media platforms.
Since I’m funding this project entirely on my own, I am being mindful of how I allocate my time and resources.
Iβm reaching out to those of you who have traversed a similar path, as I would greatly appreciate any insights you can share. I find myself grappling with a few key questions:
- How did you choose a name that resonated with you and your vision?
- Did you narrow down your niche from the get-go, or did you take on any work that came your way initially?
- Looking back, are there any steps you regret during your setup phase?
- What tools do you recommend for managing portfolios, proposals, contracts, and client relationships?
- What indicators signaled to you that it was time to start reaching out to potential clients?
Iβm open to any suggestions or guidance, even ideas I might not have considered yet. My goal is to build a strong foundation and not rush through this crucial phase.
Thank you for taking the time to read my post! I genuinely appreciate any advice you can provide! π
