Navigating the Growing Pains of a New Product-Based Business

Starting a new venture is often a mix of excitement and uncertainty, and for those new to product sales, the challenges can feel overwhelming. As someone who has launched a small business focused on feminine care and wellness products, I’m experiencing this firsthand. Having previously operated service-based enterprises, transitioning to a product-oriented model has presented new hurdles I hadn’t anticipated.

Despite my earlier businesses, I was unprepared for the high demand that has surged through my new venture in just two short months. My initial expectation was modest—a few orders a week to ease me into this competitive market. Yet, I find myself grappling with multiple orders each day, leaving me feeling as though I’m barely staying afloat.

Handling everything on my own—from marketing and order processing to delivery—has become increasingly challenging. While seasoned entrepreneurs and friends encourage me to consider hiring assistance, my financial situation currently does not allow for any additional wages. The juggling act is further complicated by the financial strain of rising restocking costs, where frequent price changes are neither viable nor sustainable.

My ultimate goal is to bring someone on board to alleviate some of this pressure, particularly when it comes to deliveries. However, given the unpredictable nature of operating costs, this may take several months or even up to a year.

In the meantime, I’m reaching out to fellow entrepreneurs who have navigated similar transitions from service to product-based businesses.
