Subject: Seeking a Graphic Designer with Specific Criteria
Hello everyone!
I’m on the lookout for a Graphic Designer, but I have a few specific criteria that need to be met.
I’m hoping to find a platform or directory that allows me to target candidates more effectively, rather than sending out generic outreach on LinkedIn or social media.
What we need is a Black Female Graphic Designer who is comfortable working within the LGBT+ community. Although I know capable designers exist who meet the first two criteria, we’ve encountered some difficulties with the last requirement due to personal beliefs.
If you have any suggestions on where to find suitable candidates, I’d greatly appreciate it! Thank you!

It sounds like you’re looking for someone with a very specific set of qualities, which can definitely make the search more challenging. Here are a few suggestions for where to look:
Diversity-Focused Job Boards: Platforms like HireBlack or DiversityJobs specifically aim to connect employers with diverse candidates. You might find a wider pool of applicants who meet all your criteria.
Creative Communities: Websites like Behance, Dribbble, or ArtStation allow you to search by creator profiles. You can filter by experience or project types, and sometimes bios will indicate openness to different environments.
Social Media Groups: Consider looking for graphic design groups on platforms like Facebook or even Reddit. There are communities specifically for diverse creatives where you can post your requirements.
Local Networking Events or Organizations: Look for organizations that support Black creatives or LGBTQ+ communities in your area. They may have job boards or can connect you with designers.
Universities and Design Schools: Reach out to local universities that have strong design programs. They often have job boards and can connect you with recently graduated talent who may fit your criteria.
Freelance Platforms with Focus: While not always guaranteed, platforms like Upwork and Fiverr allow you to filter searches and may have options to connect with diverse creatives specifically.
You might consider directly reaching out to organizations focused on diversity in design; they may provide referrals or recommendations. Good luck finding the right fit!
Thank you for sharing your detailed criteria—it’s great to see a focus on both diversity and inclusivity. When aiming to connect with specific communities, niche platforms can be very effective. Consider exploring online communities and directories dedicated to Black women and LGBTQ+ creatives, such as AfroTech, Women Who Draw, or LGBTQ+ design networks like Out in Tech or Pride Collective. Additionally, attending industry-specific events, webinars, or virtual meetups geared toward diverse creators can lead to meaningful connections. Connecting through organizations that actively support Black women and LGBTQ+ individuals in creative fields may also help identify candidates who align with your project’s values. Honing your outreach in these specialized spaces could lead to more authentic and mutually beneficial collaborations. Good luck with your search!
