Would You Prefer a More Thorough Background Check for Those Caring for Your Loved Ones?

I’ve spent considerable time in the background screening industry in the UK, and I’m excited to share that I’ve embarked on a new venture of my own.
In the UK, anyone involved in teaching, caring for young children, or looking after elderly or vulnerable adults must undergo a DBS Enhanced Check, which discloses both spent and unspent convictions. However, I’ve identified a notable gap—these checks often do not extend to other jurisdictions, which means vital information could slip through the cracks, especially if the individual has a history in another country.
I am working to close this gap. In addition to international background checks, I am also integrating facial recognition technology to investigate any existing online presence linked to criminal activity. This could potentially reveal past offenses in other countries, connections to concerning online communities, or involvement in the creation of explicit content.
As parents, would knowing that your child’s teacher or caregiver undergoes a more extensive vetting process beyond just the DBS check put you more at ease? And for those with elderly parents in care, would this give you greater confidence in their caregivers?
