In the past two months, my small business has generated $52k in gross profit and $26k in net earnings! I launched a maintenance and repair company and officially went full-time on November 1, 2024.
So far, I’ve partnered with a roofing company, a high-end HOA, and Wingstop to manage maintenance for 10 of their locations in my area. I initially envisioned myself as a one-man handyman, but now I see the potential for growth beyond that.
I’ve hired one employee on a near-full-time basis and have additional help as needed. I’m considering purchasing a work van for him to help lighten my workload. To be honest, it’s been a whirlwind—I’ve experienced burnout, stress, and even moments of feeling overwhelmed.
I’m diving into systems and processes to better deliver value. One of my strengths is building trust and rapport with people, which has helped me along the way. However, I’ve become a bit too caught up in the nitty-gritty details, which has prevented me from pursuing the projects I’m really passionate about.
